In December 2009 the Building Global Democracy Programme held a workshop in Cairo which brought together a diverse group of international academics, activist and officials to discuss what rule by and for the people means in the context of a more global world. During the workshop several video interviews were taped with participants in order to ascertain their views on global democracy.
