The main advantage of Democracy is not that it can’t make mistakes. All systems of government can make mistakes. And Democracy can be worse than dictatorship in some ways. Because elected politicians tend to spend lots of money without raising taxes and run up huge deficits and debts in order to gain popularity and get re-elected. Then they retire from politics. And they let someone else deal with the mess.

But Democracy has one big advantage over other forms of government. When things get really bad, then the people don’t have to kill anyone and destroy their country in order to change their government. All they have to do is organize another political party and elect someone else. Which is a lot more efficient and good than destroying one’s country in order to change the government.

and democracy does not “make” some people rich. They do it themselves, through hard work, skill, luck, attitude, etc etc. A small group are born rich but the idea of democracy is that anyone can change their life situation. The fact that many don’t doesn’t mean democracy doesn’t work.

there is a path to success, for whatever glory you’re chasing. Many never even find the path, let alone travel it.

Haha banking isn’t based on democracy-it’s called CAPITALISM! And the level of govt interference that was present made the system anything BUT capitalistic. Research on the FDIC before pronouncing failure on the free market.

Actually socialism is what leads to extreme corruption ond oligarchy.

The collapse of the banking systems and economies is a result of free-market capitalism, not democracy. However, it is the western combination of capitilism plus democracy that began this domino effect. Democracy is not a failure, its the most secure and stable type of government we have so far.

We elect the Government, not the bankers who caused all the damage.

Since when was the economy based on democracy? It’s based on free market principles. This is not the same as democracy.
