Depends on empathy, whether or not one can feel anothers injustice without having to go through it yourself. Some can do it, some just can’t. That is the source of most of the worlds problems.

@buggeringon so you’re happy with the situation in ireland? you approve of what britain has done in ireland? tony benn is a hero for supporting finna fail when it was most unfashionable within politics and his party etc – he never toes the party line, he sticks to his principles – am not sure what he did such that you dislike him about pirate radio – i’m all for british culture and pirate radio, but there is a point which states if you let it remain underground it confirms its ‘bad’ nature etc?!

civil liberty????? this is the one politician who i really dislike he entertained ira killers in the house of commons but most o all i dislike him for shutting down the pirate radio stations in the 1960 s so not much liberty there or the masses mr benn and now we have a right to rule with his son hilary an mp and even his grand daugter being manipulated into the same rotten regime it seems that liberty only applies to his twisted version of events !!!

This man, is the ONLY politician I have ever been able to understand when he speaks. It is merely coincidental that I actually concur with his politics…Sir Tony Benn is a legend. Who will ever replace him? This question makes me feel very sad.

A great man. Politics should be about compassion and having a caring, decent society, not about profits for bankers and the rich. You can see the results of capitalism in British society today, look at the mess wer’e in.
